Risk PM

ok, I am trying this again, since I accidentally clicked on the wrong button and didn't save my entire blog entry....  (aaarrggghhhh!!!!)

This idea isn't new, but it hasn't really been adopted on a widespread basis.  The idea works like this - an organization or department hires a project manager with the specific responsibility of managing project risk across multiple projects.  Perhaps the ratio is something like 7-10 projects per risk PM, so the additional ...

The Art of War

The Art of War by Sun Tzu is one of my favourite books (not that I read many - I'm actually a very slow reader). But the Art of War is something I like to pick up and re-read from time to time, to remember the tactics that it espouses. Now, that does not mean I intend to physically pick up arms and start to lay siege against my enemies (although there are times I'd like to LOL).

I've been talking about this concept for a while, and brought it a bit more to life in the recent risk management workshop I had.

A while back when I was teaching the risk management component at Sheridan College, I ran an exercise with the class.  I separated them into three groups, with one being the sponsor/customer, the other being the project team, and the last being the project manager....

Patience

Well, it looks like my website and email have finally been fixed.  Here's what happened:

I currently have my domain name and email addresses with one provider, but no website or hosting.  I found another provider that offered a very good website package for a better price than my domain provider.  I had investigated that this is a workable solution, so I went with it.  Then, my emails stopped working...  AAAAGGHH!!  As anyone knows, being without emails is ...
